At the Mediation Training and Consultation Institute, we offer both basic and advanced mediation trainings.

Basic Mediation Training

40-hour Divorce and Custody Mediation Training

We offer a comprehensive, five-day 40-hour Divorce and Custody Mediation Training that uses a combination of role play, lecture, simulation, discussion and videotapes of actual mediation. Public sessions of the program are regularly scheduled in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and Chicago, Illinois. In addition, we take this same program on the road to offer training onsite throughout the country for sponsoring groups and organizations. Our Divorce and Custody Mediation Training has been approved for continuing education credits in a number of states.

30-hour Custody Mediation Training

This 30-hour Custody Mediation Training is for groups wanting training in the parenting aspects, but not the financial apsects, of divorce mediation. It's been approved by the Family Section of the Association for Conflict Resolution (formerly Academy of Family Mediators).

40-hour Civil Mediation Training

Get the best training available to become an official circuit court civil case mediator in all Michigan counties where you practice. This 40-hour Civil Mediation Training includes presentations, skill practice, videotape analysis, and more!

Advanced Mediation Training

We present on a range of advanced mediation topics at individual training workshops, conferences and organizations throughout the country. Workshops are geared for mediators who have already taken the basic training, and all satisfy state requirements for continuing education.
